Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) today named former Spartan football standout Andrew Althouse (Wyo ’04) to the school’s all-time football team
Althouse played for the Tartans from 2004-07, starting at left tackle as a junior and senior. During his junior season, CMU finished 11-1, won the University Athletic Association (UAA) Conference Championship and made the NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen. Althouse was named First-Team All-UAA and was selected to the D3Football.com All-Region team.
During his senior season, the Tartans finished 7-4, capped with a come-from-behind ECAC bowl victory over Gettysburg College. Althouse was again named First-Team All-UAA.
At Wyomissing, Althouse started at offensive tackle for the 2001 District 3 AA Champion Spartans and was a two-way starter (OT/DT) for the 2003 (District Finalists) and 2002 (League Champions) teams.
Congratulations, Andrew, from your extended football family — teammates, coaches, alumni and fans — here in Wyomissing for a well-deserved honor.
